Amish Puppymills
crossposting from CRM. makes you ill corinne
Good Morning: If you would like to find out more information about Amish Puppymills, there is an excellent article at: http://www.awawatchdog.com/0205/index.htm ***WARNING*** There are graphic pictures in this article, entitled "Behind the Buggy". This will give you an idea of the condition of the mills and the dogs -- and why we try so hard to get these dogs out of them. I can tell you the first puppymill auction that I went to, which was located at an actual puppymill in MO -- when we pulled up and I saw the dogs, especially the cairns and the westies, it was like all the pictures that I had looked at came to life in front of my eyes. Aly had to slap me back to reality before we got out of the van, and Lynell and I spent the entire day in the most inane conversation you have ever heard just staying focused and trying to get our job done. These auctions are not fun to attend - but we have the volunteers ready and willing to attend and do whatever is necessary to give a cairn terrier a chance at a life.

Re: Amish Puppymills
I remember the time Mom and Dad went with us to Indiana to visit Amanda. They stopped at a pet store. Mom, Dad, and Amanda went inside and looked around. They stopped at the puppies and asked the sales girl where they got their puppies from. The girl told them a broker goes around to the Amish farms and collects them. Mom looked at her and said..."I hear the Amish are puppymillers. So you support Puppymills." The lady turned on her heel and left. Then no one would wait on Mom. Mom said that was okay...they didn't have anything she wanted anyway.

But Lynda, those are the great, God fearing, world shunning people! Makes you wonder about those good Christians, doesn't it?

I used to have a lot of respect for these people, NO more. I dug into the info on the internet about these mills and it is BIG business for them. I Can't believe it! Thank you for sharing this info with us, or I would have never known. hugs Sue and Madison

Re: Amish Puppymills
Unfortunately the link did open and I have never been more disgusted by the pictures and videos from these supposed "God-fearing" people. If these type of people can do that what hope is there for dogs bred by puppy mills without a supposed conscience.
I hope never to see scenes like that again.
